Genshin Impact Reveals New Genius Invokation TCG Cards for Version 4.0

HoYoverse, the developer behind Genshin Impact, has unveiled information regarding the character cards that will be introduced in version 4.0 of the Genius Invocation TCG mode. This update is set to launch on August 16. Since its debut in version 3.3, the Genius Invocation TCG mode has been progressively expanding its selection of playable cards, enabling players to construct formidable decks for challenging their friends. Notably, the recent 3.8 update introduced character cards centered around Genshin Impact's characters Kazuha, Yanfei, and Candace. These cards showcase their versatile skill sets.

Genshin Impact's Genius Invocation TCG mode functions as a turn-based gameplay experience where players construct decks aimed at eliminating all three of their opponent's character cards. While the rules of the TCG are easy to grasp, mastering it requires a significant time investment. Players need to strategically plan their moves and create adaptable decks in order to secure victory. Each deck, visible to both players, comprises 30 action cards and three character cards. Character cards emulate the skills of their Genshin Impact counterparts, enabling players to influence the outcome of battles. The objective is to eliminate all three of the opponent's character cards, leading to victory and the acquisition of Primogems. The Genius Invocation TCG mode can also be played against NPCs, which serves as a helpful means to grasp the fundamentals of the game.

In a recent blog post, HoYoverse provided comprehensive insights into the upcoming TCG character cards. These cards are inspired by Genshin Impact characters Lisa, Albedo, and Qiqi. Lisa's card reflects her skill set, with normal attacks dealing one instance of electro damage and applying the Conductive status to the opponent's active character. Her elemental burst inflicts two electro damage and summons Lightning Rose, which deals an additional two electro damage during the end phase. Albedo's card revolves around the Geo element, incorporating an elemental talent that reduces the cost of Plunging Attacks. Additionally, the card features an elemental burst dealing four Geo damage.

Another character card highlights Genshin Impact's Cryo user, Qiqi. Her elemental burst causes three damage and generates a Fortune-Preserving Talisman. This status aids in healing Qiqi by two HP if her health isn't already at maximum. Conversely, the elemental skill summons the Herald of Forest, which heals the character who suffered the most damage for one HP while this status is active on the field.

In addition to the character cards, Genshin Impact version 4.0 will introduce two equipment and event cards. Among them is the King's Squire weapon, which grants an additional point of damage when equipped. Another inclusion is a support card named Golden House, allowing players to expend one less Elemental Die per round. However, to utilize this benefit, players must play a weapon or artifact card with an original cost of at least three. The highly anticipated Fontaine update for Genshin Impact is scheduled for release on August 16th.
